With “Album 1” we come to a longplayer we have been waiting for. Zack Zack had not only inspired and enchanted us with their hit “Bütün” and recently presented the new video for Sekretariat. Now the album is finally here and we tell you why this album is unique.

The two musicians from Vienna with Turkish roots are apparently masters of variety. You can clearly notice their signature, but no song is even remotely similar to the previous one. Sometimes Yigit and Cemgil start with post-punk and in the next song they put the synths in the front row. In the next song a saxophone surprises and takes you directly to the 80s only to dive into a new genre again later. Madness! Why? Quite simple. Genre hopping, let’s call it that, is hard to realize for most bands, too big is the danger to drive it really suck or to sound somehow unbelievable. But these two seem to do it with ease, even more, they add a good pinch of their Turkish roots to the music. Modernity and tradition become a great experience. Turkish, German and English lyrics are also part of the variety and round off the whole thing again.

Eleven songs that will captivate you, surprise you, make you dance, make you dream and influence you in every possible way. We love the album and you will too.

Mit “Album 1” kommen wir zu einem Longplayer auf den wir brennend gewartet haben. Zack Zack Zack hatten nicht nur uns mit ihrem Hit “Bütün” begeistert und verzaubert und vor kurzem das neue Video zu Sekretariat vorgestellt. Nun ist das Album endlich da und wir sagen euch, warum dieses Stück einzigartig ist.

Die beiden Musiker aus Wien mit türkischen Wurzeln sind scheinbar Meister der Abwechslung. Man bemerkt zwar deutlich ihre Handschrift, aber kein Song gleicht nur im Ansatz dem vorherigen. Mal legen Yigit und Cemgil mit Post-Punk los um im nächsten Song die Synths an vorderste Reihe zu stellen. Im nächsten Song überrascht dann ein Saxophon und bringt einen ohne Umwege in die 80s nur um dann später wieder in ein neues Genre zu tauchen. Wahnsinn! Warum? Ganz einfach. Genre Hopping, nennen wir es mal so, ist für die meisten Bands schwer realisierbar, zu groß ist die Gefahr es richtig an die Wand zu fahren oder irgendwie unglaubwürdig zu klingen. Die Beiden aber setzen das ganze scheinbar spielend um, mehr noch, sie geben noch eine ordentliche Prise ihrer türkischen Wurzeln mit in die Musik. Moderne und Tradition wird zu einem großartigen Erlebnis. Türkische, Deutsche und Englische Texte sind ebenfalls Teil der Abwechslung und runden das ganze nochmals ab.

Elf Songs die euch fesseln werden, überraschen, zum tanzen bewegen, träumen lassen und auf jede erdenkliche Art beeinflussen. Wir lieben das Album und ihr werdet es auch.
