Bella Italia! Of course, the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Italy is the world-famous cuisine, the imposing monuments of Rome, Venice and the other countless historic cities. The temperament of the warm-hearted people, the many scientific achievements and the extraordinary music classical, Italo disco and in our case of course all the bands in the field of post-punk, darkwave and gothic rock. To reduce this whole outstanding selection of dark music to just 20 songs is almost a brimstone. I could easily list 50 bands in my sleep that I would have liked to include in this playlist. But I’ll make it pretty easy for myself, it’ll just be the first part of many playlists from Italy. So don’t be mad if you’re not included this time, next time you will be. Now sit back and enjoy the show and you’ll probably start dancing anyway. Many thanks to the bands for having been my musical companions for years.

Bella Italia! Natürlich denkt man bei Italien zuerst an die weltberühmte Küche, die imposanten Monumente von Rom, Venedig und den anderen unzähligen historischen Städten. Das Temperament der warmherzigen Menschen, die vielen wissenschaftlichen Errungenschaften und die außergewöhnliche Musik – Klassik, Italo-Disco und in unserem Fall natürlich all die Bands aus dem Bereich Post-Punk, Darkwave und Gothic Rock. Diese ganze herausragende Auswahl an dunkler Musik auf nur 20 Songs zu reduzieren, ist schon fast eine Frechheit. Ich könnte locker 50 Bands im Schlaf aufzählen, die ich gerne in diese Playlist aufgenommen hätte. Aber ich mache es mir ganz einfach, es wird nur der erste Teil von vielen Playlists aus Italien sein. Also seid nicht böse, wenn ihr dieses Mal nicht dabei seid, beim nächsten Mal seid ihr dabei.
