There are days when everything comes down to the last try. Pressing the refresh button on Bandcamp for the last time and you actually don’t feel like digging through today’s releases again. Today is just not a day for cool music. But suddenly the moment freezes when we heard the first seconds of Verte Ser, the new song by the band Mausoleo from Valencia.
The moment when a smile creeps into the face, because who is about as old as we are, who will still remember the good old days, when exactly this sound could not be missing at any party. The time of the mixtapes that you put together in painstaking detail work for your great love. Yes, you had about 90 or even only 60 minutes of time on the cassette, which song was allowed on it was a difficult decision. Thinking back to that time, Verte Ser would have definitely ended up on the mixtape. The sound could be described, as they do themselves, as emotional post-punk, but there is a lot more magic than most current bands. For that we have to dive back into the past, when as a teenager you were always on the verge of being overwhelmed with life and your emotions. Feelings were a bubbling cocktail of melancholy, bravado and insatiable love. Longings, feelings, powerlessness. All these things can be felt in the riffs, the verses, the beat and the outstanding melodious voice. A song that does not pass the listener without a trace, either you revel in memories or want to dance on the dance floor through little light and lots of fog spinning around yourself. A timelessly good song and absolute buy recommendation!

As we could see on the Bandcamp profile of Mausoleo there will be a new EP entitled Refugio Transitorio soon. If it is oriented to Verte Ser, it will be a hot piece of music, maybe one of the Top releases this year!

Es gibt Tage, da läuft alles auf den letzten Versuch hinaus. Das letzte Mal den Refresh-Button auf Bandcamp drücken und eigentlich hat man schon keine Lust mehr, sich noch einmal durch die Releases des heutigen Tages zu wühlen. Heute ist einfach kein Tag für coole Musik. Doch auf einmal friert der Moment ein, als wir die ersten Sekunden von Verte Ser, dem neuen Song der Band Mausoleo aus Valencia hörten.
Der Moment wenn sich ein Lächeln ins Gesicht schleicht, denn wer in etwa so alt wie wir ist, der wird sich noch an die gute alte Zeit erinnern, als genau dieser Sound auf keiner Party fehlen durft. Die Zeit der Mixtapes die man in mühevoller Kleinarbeit für seine große Liebe zusammenstellte. Ja, man hatte in etwa 90 oder gar nur 60 Minuten Zeit auf der Cassette, welcher Song mit drauf durfte, das waren schwierige Entscheidungen. In Gedanken zurück an diese Zeit, wäre Verte Ser auf jeden Fall mit auf dem Mixtape gelandet. Den Sound könnte man, wie sie es selber tun, als emotionalen Post-Punk bezeichnen, doch ist da viel mehr Magie als bei den meisten aktuellen Bands. Dafür müssen wir wieder in die Vergangenheit tauchen, als man als Jugendlicher mit dem Leben und seinen Emotionen immer am Rande der Überforderung war. Gefühle waren ein brodelnder Cocktail aus Melancholie, Draufgängertum und unstillbarer Liebe. Sehnsüchte, Gefühle, Ohnmacht. All diese Dinge spürt man in den Riffs, den Versen, dem Beat und der überragend wohlklingenden Stimme. Ein Song der nicht spurlos am Hörer vorbeigeht, entweder schwelgt man in Erinnerung oder möchte auf die Tanzfläche sich durch wenig Licht und viel Nebelschwaden tanzend um sich selbst drehen. Ein zeitlos guter Song und absolute Kaufempfehlung!

Wie wir auf dem Bandcamp Profil von Mausoleo sehen konnten steht auch in Kürze eine neue EP mit dem Titel Refugio Transitorio an und wenn sie sich an Verte Ser orientiert, wird sie ein heißes Stück Musik, wenn nicht sogar eines der Top Releases diesen Jahres.
