Highlight of the week // Unter Null Liveshow #53 – Liveact Kurs Valüt

With four years of experience and already episode #53, the Unter Null Liveshow has become an integral part of the live streams of the dark scene. Even before Corona, the Störmer duo, with the help of many friends and guests, set out to not only establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with, but to create something that only a few can pull off.

If you haven’t seen the show yet, you’re probably wondering what’s so special about this stream. There are hundreds, even thousands worldwide, but two very important aspects come into play here, authenticity and fun. You can tell how much fun the duo, the team and the guests are having, after watching just a few minutes. They celebrate, stay true to themselves, and never seem put upon at any time. Mistakes happen and are simply taken over into the program without getting angry. It doesn’t take long until the good mood in front of the camera infects the viewer. For example, we love to run the stream on the TV at home and integrate the whole party atmosphere into the living room. As usual with live streams, there is also a chat and this is like a gathering of a big family. In the chat there is laughter, joking, you can feel the wonderful, familiar tone. As a newcomer in the chat you don’t need to have any fear of contact, because you are always welcomed. The Unter Null team is of course in the chat at all times, answering questions, chatting and spreading their good humor there as well.

From a musical point of view, it’s always worth tuning in, because despite a huge treasure trove of music that we’ve built up over the years, the duo still amazes us with unique and wonderful songs that we have never heard before. Thereby it’s mainly stubborn earworms and songs that want to be danced to. You should probably already carry the living room table into the next room and warn the neighbors.

It wouldn’t be Unter Null if there weren’t great guests at the start. Tilly Electronics, Rosi, 89st, the list is incredibly long and this time Kurs Valüt joins them.

The Ukrainian project from Dnipro around composer, lyricist and singer Eugene Gordeev is a class of its own. Not bound to restrictive genres, the sound undergoes a wealth of variations. EBM-structures alternate with minimal-electro and hints of synth-pop. A straightforward sound, which, in addition to proper speed, also comes up with outstanding dynamics and above all a “fat” sound. The sound is cool, like a industrial landscape with some end-time variations. An experience you wouldn’t have expected, when you’re new to this band.
If you take a look at the forums and social media platforms, you will quickly notice that the fans especially love the live performances of the band. You see, Friday is becoming more and more a must-see event!

Mit mittlerweile vier Jahren auf den Buckel und nunmehr die Ausgabe Nummer 53 ist die Unter Null Liveshow ein fester Bestandteil der Live-Streams der dunklen Szene geworden. Schon vor Corona machte sich das Duo Störmer mit Hilfe von vielen Freunden und Gästen daran, sich nicht nur als feste Größe zu etablieren, sondern etwas zu erschaffen, das so nur wenige hinbekommen.

Wer die Show noch nicht gesehen hat, der wird sich sicherlich fragen, was so besonders an diesem Stream ist. Es gibt hunderte, gar tausende weltweit, doch kommen hier zwei ganz wichtige Aspekte zum tragen, Authentizität und Spaß. Man merkt dem Duo, dem Team und den Gästen einfach an wie viel Spaß es ihnen macht. Man feiert, bleibt sich selber treu und wirkt zu keiner Zeit aufgesetzt. Fehler passieren und werden einfach ins Programm übernommen ohne sich großartig zu ärgern. Es dauert nicht lange bis die Gute Laune vor der Kamera den Zuschauer ansteckt. Wir lieben es zum Beispiel den Stream über den heimischen Fernseher laufen zu lassen und die ganze Partystimmung ins Wohnzimmer zu integrieren. Wie bei Live-Streams üblich, gibt es natürlich auch den Chat und auch hier läuft alles wie in einer großen Familie ab. Ein wunderbar familiärer Umgangston, man lacht, man scherzt und hat seinen Spaß. Als Neuling im Chat braucht man auch überhaupt keine Berührungsängste zu haben, denn man wird jederzeit herzlich Willkommen geheißen. Auch das Team und die Gäste sind soweit möglich immer mit im Chat unterwegs und verbreiten auch dort gute Laune.

Musikalisch gesehen lohnt sich ein einschalten immer, denn trotz eines mittlerweile riesigen Musikschatzes den wir nun über die Jahre aufgebaut haben, verblüfft uns das Duo immer noch mit Songs die wir toll finden und vorher noch nie gehört haben. Dabei sind es vor allem hartnäckige Ohrwürmer und Songs die getanzt werden wollen. Ihr solltet vermutlich schon mal den Wohnzimmertisch ins Nachbarzimmer tragen und die Nachbarn vorwarnen.

Es wäre nicht Unter Null, wenn keine großartigen Gäste am Start wären. Tilly Electronics, Rosi, 89st, die Liste ist unglaublich lang und diesmal gesellt sich Kurs Valüt dazu.

Das ukrainische Projekt aus Dnipro rund um Komponist, Texter und Sänger Eugene Gordeev ist eine Klasse für sich. Nicht an beschränkende Genres gebunden durchlebt der Sound eine Fülle an Variationen. EBM-Struckturen wechseln sich mit Minimal-Electro und Anflügen von Synth-Pop ab. Ein geradliniger Sound, der neben ordentlich Tempo auch mit überragenden Dynamiken und vor allem einen “fetten” Sound aufwartet. Kühl, industriell, schon fast endzeitlich wiegt der Sound auf dem Hörer und in Kombination mit den passenden ukrainischen Vocals erschafft Kurs Valüt ein Erlebnis, das man, sollte man das erste Mal auf die Band treffen in der Form vorher noch nicht kannte.
Wenn man einen Blick in die Foren und auf die Social Media Plattformen wirft, dann wir man schnell merken, das die Fans vor allem die Live-Auftritte der Band lieben. Ihr seht, der Freitag wird immer mehr zu einem Pflichttermin!
