A new Carlo Onda album! We had already built up some expectations when we first heard of Sturm + Drang, but as with the new album, the Swiss had never disappointed us. Sturm + Drang with its nine songs is once again in a class of its own.

What we love about the artist is his ability to make his music sound like a big journey through past decades. Modern and past all the way to the 80s that many people love. Okay, you can indeed say that many do this, but the musician here displays a unique skill. Probably because he is not only a fan of old equipment, but also knows how to use it. We spontaneously think of the Boss DR66, which he used for the Darker Days release. Therefore, despite its “simplicity”, the sound seems warm and authentic.
The most impressive thing about Sturm + Drang, however, is the overwhelming variety this album offers. No moment resembles the other moment and really every second stirs up a new a fascination for this album. So much so that we have listened to the album countless times and it let us forget writing. We tap our feet along, follow the catchy melodies, whisper along with the vocals and as if by magic the album is over and we have again only managed two words and lost the thread somewhere. This is music that captivates and never gets boring, you can always rediscover it and find a new aspect. A wonderful, dark, electronic experience. Try it right here and now, you will love the album.

Ein neues Carlo Onda Album. Wir hatten schon einige Erwartungen aufgebaut, als wir von Sturm + Drang das erste Mal hörten, doch wie auch mit dem neuen Album, hatte uns der Schweizer noch nie enttäuscht. Sturm + Drang mit seinen neun Songs ist wieder einmal eine Klasse für sich.

Was wir an dem Künstler lieben, ist seine Fähigkeit seine Musik wie eine Reise durch die Jahrzehnte klingen zu lassen. Moderne und Vergangenheit bis hin zu den von vielen Menschen heißbeliebten 80s. Okay, man kann in der Tat behaupten das dies viele machen, doch legt der Musiker hier ein einzigartiges Können an den Tag. Vermutlich weil er nicht nur Fan von altem Equipment ist, sondern diese auch zu nutzen weiß. Uns fällt da spontan das Boss DR66 ein, das er für die Darker Days Veröffentlichung nutzte. Daher wirkt der Sound trotz “Einfachheit” warm und authentisch.
Das Beeindruckendste an Sturm + Drang ist allerdings die überwältigende Abwechslung die dieses Album bietet. Kein Moment gleicht dem anderen Moment und wirklich jede Sekunde schürt erneut eine Faszination für das Album. So sehr, das wir uns das Album schon unzählige Male gehört haben und es uns immer wieder vom Schreiben abhält. Wir wippen mit den Füßen mit, verfolgen die eingängigen Melodien, flüstern die Vocals mit und wie von Zauberhand ist das Album zu Ende und wir haben wieder nur zwei Wörter geschafft und irgendwo den Faden verloren. Das ist Musik die fesselt und nie langweilig wird, man kann sie immer erneut entdecken und findet einen neuen Aspekt. Ein wunderbares, dunkles, elektronisches Erlebnis, das man am besten selbst erlebt.
