Today the new single “Gestrandet” by the north German formation Massiv In Mensch is in stores and who knows the Frisians, knows that one does not only get “one” song, but rather a wonderful musical story. A tradition, which has been successfully continued since the beginning in 1996. The release also includes additional songs like a cover of the 70’s song “Das Lied von Manuel”.

Familiar is a word that is difficult to associate with the quartet, and that makes describing the sound incredibly difficult for someone who doesn’t know the formation. You could put cornerstones like electro, but if you had to put them hard into a genre it would be “Massiv In Mensch” because the sound is and remains unique, special and unrivalled. “The right sound for the right song” to quote the guys themselves.

“Gestrandet” thus fits perfectly into the band’s concept, appears fresh and pleasantly impetuous, but just as familiar and warm-hearted. Dynamic to explosive passages that tower over everything like a crest of waves, while the chorus and the stunning voice of Rana Arborea take over the contrary part in the wave valley. Ab heute ist die langersehnte neue Single “Gestrandet” der norddeutschen Formation Massiv In Mensch erhältlich und wer die Friesen kennt, der weiß das man eben nicht nur “einen” Song bekommt, sondern vielmehr eine wunderbare musikalische Geschichte. Eine Tradition, die seit der Entstehung 1996 erfolgreich fortgeführt wird und auch dieses Mal in Form von zusätzlichen Songs inklusive eines Covers des 70er Jahre Songs „Das Lied von Manuel“ zu euch kommt.
Gewohnt ist ein Wort, das man nur schwer in Verbindung mit dem Quartett bringen kann, und das macht auch die Beschreibung des Sounds für jemanden der die Formation nicht kennt unwahrscheinlich schwer. Man könnte Eckpunkte wie Elektro anbringen, doch wenn man sie knallhart in ein Genre bringen müsste wäre es “Massiv In Mensch” denn der Sound ist und bleibt einzigartig, speziell und unerreicht. “Der passende Sound für den passenden Song” um die Jungs selbst zu zitieren.
Gestrandet passt somit vollkommen ins Konzept der Band, wirkt frisch und angenehm ungestüm, aber ebenso vertraut und warmherzig. Dynamisch bis explosive Passagen, die wie ein Wellenkamm alles überragen, während der Refrain und die umwerfende Stimme von Rana Arborea den konträren Part im Wellental übernehmen.
