New Song // Blame – New Haunts

At the moment, women are at the forefront of the up-and-coming Cold Transmission label, and the enchanting Alice Sheridan aka New Haunts from the port city of Bristol cannot be missing. With “Blame”, the musician is releasing a new song that is overflowing with energy and emotion. To coincide with the release, the song has received an equally fitting video that really ties in perfectly with the song. Click here for the video

Sharp synths and a driving beat open “Blame” and after a short while it already melts into harmony with Alice’s wonderful and unmistakable voice. It is dark and a little oppressive. In the video, a dark blue was also used and thus creates a “denouncing” mood. The oppressive situation quickly becomes clear, which is then contrasted by the more energetic voice and rich red during the chorus. A brief rebellion, anger? That you can interpret a lot here is fun and makes the song even more interesting than it already is.

Musically, the song is not only driving and catchy but also rich in complexity. Alice Sheridan once again manages to stand out from the broad mass of synth music and remains true to her uniqueness.

Combined with the videographic talent of Alastair Power, we will certainly be offered a lot to see and hear in the future, and by the way, the name “Still Dark Sky” already appears, the title of the new album, which will be released on 28 May. We are looking forward to the third album from Bristol.

Im Moment sind beim Senkrechtstarter Label Cold Transmission die Frauen ganz vorne mit dabei und da darf die bezaubernde Alice Sheridan alias New Haunts aus der Hafenstadt Bristol nicht fehlen. Die Musikerin bringt mit “Blame” einen neuen Song und, der vor Energie und Gefühlen geradezu überläuft. Zeitgleich zum Release hat der Song ein ebenso passendes Video erhalten, das sich wirklich perfekt an den Song bindet. Zum Video geht es hier

Scharfe Synths und ein treibender Beat eröffnen “Blame” um dann nach kurzer Zeit schon im Einklang mit der wunderbaren und unverkennbaren Stimme von Alice zu verschmelzen. Düster geht es voran und ein wenig beklemmend. Im Video wurde zusätzlich ein dunkles Blau verwendet und erzeugt somit eine “anprangernde” Stimmung. Schnell wird einem die Bedrückende Situation klar, die dann von der energischeren Stimme und sattem Rot während des Refrains kontrastiert wird. Ein kurzes Auflehnen, Wut? Das man hier viel interpretieren kann, macht Spaß und den Song noch interessanter als er ohnehin schon ist.

Musikalisch ist der Song nicht nur treibend und eingängig sondern eben auch reich an Komplexität. Alice Sheridan schafft es erneut aus der breiten Masse der Synth-Musik hervorzustechen und
bleibt ihrer Einzigartigkeit treu. Kombiniert mit dem Videografischen Talent von Alastair Power wird uns in Zukunft bestimmt noch einiges zu sehen und hören angeboten werden und nebenbei bemerkt taucht auch schon der Name “Still Dark Sky” auf, der Titel des neuen Albums, das am 28. Mai erscheinen soll. Wir freuen uns aufs bereits dritte Album aus Bristol.
