Plant Based Girl is the latest song by French Police, who have outdone themselves once again with this song after their last releases.

To categorize or even describe the sound of the band from Chicago poses some problems even for skilled music fans and writers. You can’t find a category that fits 100%. Too many influences have been carefully woven into their songs. It sounds like post-punk, it sounds sometimes like wave, sometimes you can feel a hint of rock. In short, French Police have their own genre.
Plant Based Girl also follows that rules and convinces with clear basslines, the dreamy and captivating guitars that rotate around the listener and in combination with the vocals you immediately want to close your eyes to not deal with something as terse as life around you. You want to absorb the song, live it, dance to it, no matter where you are. No matter if you’re in the club late in the morning with eyes already aching from fatigue or just in the subway on your way to work listening to the song with headphones on. You want to turn, move, stretch your arms and let yourself fall into the song. And because the song triggers exactly that in the listener, it’s no wonder that it comes up again as a melody in the head at the most different times.

Even if the last album was not so long ago, Plant Based Girl naturally raises the expectations of fans. Who knows, maybe more new songs will come soon. We would be happy.

Plant Based Girl ist der neueste Song von French Police, die sich mit diesem Song nach den letzen Releases nochmals übertroffen haben.

Den Sound der Band aus Chicago zu kategorisieren oder gar beschreiben zu wollen stellt auch gekonnte Musikfans und Schreiber vor einige Probleme. Man findet keine Sparte die zu 100 % passt. Zu viele Einflüsse sind sorgfältig in die Songs verwebt worden. Es klingt nach Post-Punk, es klingt manchmal wavig, manchmal spürt man einen Hauch von Rock. Kurz gesagt, French Police haben ihr eigenes Genre.
Auch Plant Based Girl folgt dem Motto und überzeugt mit deutlichen Basslines, den träumerischen und fesselnden Gitarren die um den Hörer rotieren und in Kombination mit den Vocals möchte man sofort die Augen schließen um sich nicht mit so etwas lapidaren wie das Leben um einen herum beschäftigen. Man möchte den Song aufsaugen, ihn leben, ihn egal wo man auch ist tanzen. Egal ob man spät morgens mit schon vor Müdigkeit schmerzenden Augen im Club ist oder gerade in der U-Bahn auf dem Weg zur Arbeit ist und mit Kopfhörern dem Song lauscht. Man will sich drehen, bewegen, die Arme austrecken und sich in den Song fallen lassen. Und weil der Song genau das im Hörer auslöst, ist es kein Wunder, das er auch zu den unterschiedlichsten Zeiten wieder als Melodie im Kopf auftacht.

Auch wenn das letzte Album noch nicht so lange her ist, so weckt Plant Based Girl natürlich die Erwartungen der Fans, wer weiß, vielleicht kommen bald noch mehr neue Songs. Wir würden uns freuen.
