The French duo Echoberyl has long belonged to the international music scene and with their new release – already the third in 2022 – Silent Monster, the two musicians once again show why their fan base is constantly growing. The song will not only fill the dance floors, but will equally delight music enthusiasts.

Regarding the creative process of the single, the duo writes that the melody and the bass riff just appeared out of nowhere. Even the lyrics to the song wrote themselves in a few minutes. If so, it seems to have been a brilliant inspiration, because after only a few seconds the song has captivated the listener. The “churchy” organ at the beginning of the song already sets the first accents before the synths and the bass drive like an electric shock into the body and trigger, whether wanted or not, desire to dance. A little 2000s Futurepop feeling comes up, which we find quite great and fits really well to Silent Monster. At the latest with the vocals of Cecilia, who whispers the listener with her unmistakable voice in addition to the desire to dance still quickly the appropriate words and triggers goose bumps. With all this, the song is then matured to perfection. A dance floor banger that comes up with incredible energy. The next surprise comes when you take time to take a closer look at the song. We usually listen to the songs first in the car or the home stereo, later with headphones and without distractions. For a “classic” dance floor song, Cecilia and Adriano have implemented an incredible amount of details and facets into the structure that are just waiting to be discovered. It’s worth it, because you quickly sink completely into the song and forget the time.

Fittingly, the duo has taken inspiration from Jean Cocteau’s “La Belle et la Bête” and released a sepia-toned video for the song. The theme of the song, that of the silent monster on the other side of the mirror image, was superbly realized and the oppressive atmosphere is wonderfully felt despite the dynamics and power of the song.

Echoberyl have once again shown with their latest release why the band is indispensable in the current music landscape. We look forward to the next tracks of the French duo!

Zur internationalen Musikszene gehört das französische Duo Echoberyl schon lange und mit ihrer neuen Veröffentlichung – bereits die dritte in 2022 – Silent Monster zeigen die beiden Musiker wieder einmal, warum ihre Fangemeinde stetig wächst. Der Song wird nicht nur die Tanzflächen füllen, sondern ebenso Musikenthusiasten begeistern.

Zum kreativen Prozess zur Single schreibt das Duo, das die Melodie und der Bass Riff einfach aus dem Nichts auftauchten. Selbst die Lyrics zum Song schrieben sich wie von selbst in wenigen Minuten. Wenn dem so ist, scheint es eine geniale Eingebung gewesen zu sein, denn nach nur wenigen Sekunden hat der Song den Hörer in seinen Bann gezogen. Die “kirchliche” Orgel am Anfang des Songs setzt schon mal die ersten Akzente bevor die Synths und der Bass wie ein Stromschlag in den Körper fahren und, ob gewollt oder nicht, Lust zum tanzen auslösen. Ein wenig 2000er Futurepop Feeling kommt auf, was wir ganz toll finden und wirklich gut zu Silent Monster passt. Spätestens mit den Vocals von Cecilia, die mit ihrer unverkennbaren Stimme dem Hörer neben der Lust zu tanzen noch schnell die passenden Worte einflüstert und Gänsehaut auslöst, ist der Song dann zur Perfektion gereift. Ein Tanzflächen Knaller, der mit unglaublicher Energie aufwartet. Die nächste Überraschung erfährt man, wenn man sich die Zeit nimmt und den Song ein wenig genauer unter die Lupe nimmt. Wir hören die Songs in der Regel immer erst im Auto oder der heimischen Stereoanlage. Später dann mit Kopfhörern und ohne Ablenkung. Für einen “klassischen” Tanzflächen Song, haben Cecilia und Adriano unglaublich viele Details und Facetten in die Struktur implementiert, die nur darauf warten entdeckt zu werden. Es lohnt sich, denn schnell versinkt man gänzlich im Song und vergisst die Zeit.

Passend hat das Duo sich von Jean Cocteau’s “La Belle et la Bête” inspirieren lassen und ein in Sepia-Farben gehaltenes Video zum Song veröffentlicht. Die Thematik des Songs, dem des stillen Monsters auf der anderen Seite des Spiegelbildes, wurde hervorragend umgesetzt und die beklemmende Atmosphäre ist trotz der Dynamik und Kraft des Songs wunderbar zu spüren.

Echoberyl haben mit ihrem neusten Release wieder einmal gezeigt, warum die Band nicht mehr aus der aktuellen Musiklandschaft wegzudenken ist. Wir freuen uns auf die nächsten Tracks des französichen Duos!
