We’re Not Here

When we held the new album from Baltimore in our hands for the first time, we had a long car journey ahead of us and we wanted to use the time during the trip to listen to all the new releases we had received. Basically a good plan, but at the latest with “Girl Made Of Stars” it was not existing anymore and we haven’t changed the CD for days. The lyrics “This Must Be Love” explained everything. We were immediately in love with the song and the album. That we would like the album, we had been told before, but we didn´t expect goose bumps and a raging heart for every second of this album.

To reduce the album only to one ingenious track would be fatal, because the following tracks are all on a par and with a total of 14 tracks you get an experience that many “best-of” albums by “mainstream” stars can’t match. It is this feeling that we know from our childhood and early youth, when electronic music was still new and interesting and you could feel the kick of the music. This is exactly what Tristan manages to trigger again with his album and created a journey through strong emotions of music. Dark, gloomy and yet with a big portion of loving warmth, the songs become their own stories that will entertain you endlessly. Variety and depth are just as present as the irrepressible urge to dance. It’s a shame that the clubs are closed, because we would love to experience the energy of the songs with others. Enter the dance floor, feel the light, the bass that hits your body and finally surrender to the movements.

An album you can’t get past. Absolute buy recommendation.

Als wir das neue Album aus Baltimore das erste Mal in der Hand hielten, lag eine lange Autofahrt vor uns und wir wollten die Zeit während der Reise ausgiebig nutzen um endlich mal alle neuen Releases durchzuhören die bei uns eingegangen waren. Im Grunde ein guter Plan, der allerdings spätestens mit “Girl Made Of Stars” nicht mehr existent war und wir seit Tagen die CD nicht gewechselt haben. Die Textzeile “This Must Be Love” erklärte eigentlich alles. Wir waren instant in den Song und das Album verliebt. Man hatte uns ja schon im Vorfeld hingewiesen, das dieses Album unseren Geschmack trifft, das es aber derart grandios ist, das einem das Herz aufgeht und die Gänsehaut über den Körper kriecht hatten wir in der Form nicht erwartet.

Das Album nur auf einen genialen Track zu reduzieren wäre fatal, denn die nachfolgenden Tracks sind alle ebenbürtig und mit insgesamt 14 Tracks bekommt man ein Erlebnis, das so manche Best-Of Alben der Mainstream Stars nicht auf die Beine stellen können. Es ist dieses Feeling das wir aus unserer Kindheit und frühen Jugend kennen, als elektronische Musik noch neu und interessant war und man den Kick der Musik spüren konnte. Eben genau das schafft Tristan mit seinem Album erneut auszulösen in dieser Reise durch starke Emotionen der Musik. Dunkel, düster und dennoch mit einer großen Portion liebevoller Wärme werden die Songs zu eigenen Geschichten die endlos Unterhalten. Abwechslungreichtum und Tiefe sind ebenso vorhanden wie der unbändige Drang zu tanzen. Eine Schande, das die Clubs geschlossen sind, denn wir würden schon gerne die Energie der Songs mit anderen auf der Tanzfläche erleben, Diskolicht, den Bass auf dem Körper spüren und sich einfach den Bewegungen hingeben.

Fazit:
Ein Album an dem man nicht vorbei kommt. Absolute Kaufempfehlung.
