With his new song “The City Never Sleeps” and excellent matching video, the creative mastermind Nino Sable is in everybodys mind at the moment and shows once again what he is made of.

Nino Sable has many areas in which he is active, sometimes it´s his Project Melanculia, which contained more stoner elements than the darkness of his probably best known project Aeon Sable. One of the most famous and influential German goth rock acts of our time and known far beyond all borders. After a brilliant performance of Nino and his bandmates as headliner at the Dark Skies Over Witten Festival, it’s time again to show a slightly different side of the artist.
Long quiet phases do not exist for Nino, he´s always trying something new, reinvented music and sometimes he reflects on old, past things. The main thing is that there is no standstill in his creativity. The special gift to transport emotions and to let pictures arise in the head, is everybody aware of and with “The City Never Sleeps” he refines the ability again.

After a lot of dynamics and tempo of the last time, the calmer nature of the song is the first thing you notice, vocals that float more breathed on the listener but still do not miss their effect. No hard beats, breaks or tension arcs but a wonderfully quiet flow. The song takes quickly influence on the environment, you notice that you become inwardly calmer and after a short time you drift off with your thoughts, daydreaming and humming the melody quite simply. Thoughts of the lights of a large metropolis or your own little dump. You know it, you walk on the streets, you’re tired, it’s chilly and actually you don’t really like it, but the lights of the city are giving quite a bit comfort, a little bit of warmth. Glances that wander into the distance and yet give you the feeling of devotion and home. In Nino’s case Berlin, but certainly applicable to any city.

A video peppered with lots of city lights and neat 80s neon pink neon signs rounds out the whole thing and with the really countless finesses and small hidden gimmicks a real eye-catcher. Thanks a lot Nino!

Mit seinem neuen Song The City Never Sleeps und hervorragend passendem Video macht das kreative Mastermind Nino Sable im Moment von sich reden und zeigt wieder einmal was in ihm steckt.

Nino Sable hat viele Bereiche in denen er tätig ist, mal ist es sein Project Melanculia, das eher Stoner Elemente enthielt als die sonstige Dunkelheit seines wohl bekanntesten Projektes Aeon Sable. Eine der bekanntesten und einflussreichsten deutschen Goth-Rock Acts unserer Zeit und weit über alle Grenzen hinaus bekannt. Nach einem fulminanten Auftritt von Nino und seinen Bandkollegen als Headliner auf dem Dark Skies Over Witten Festival, ist es wieder an der Zeit eine etwas andere Seite des Künstlers zu zeigen.
Lange ruhige Phasen gibt es nicht für Nino, es wird probiert, neu erfunden und manchmal auch auf alte, vergangene Sachen besonnen. Hauptsache es herrscht kein Stillstand. Die besondere Gabe Emotionen zu transportieren und Bilder im Kopf entstehen zu lassen, kennen wir bei ihm und mit “The City Never Sleeps” verfeinert er die Fahigkeit erneut.

Nach viel Dynamik und Tempo der letzten Zeit fällt einem das ruhigere Wesen des Songs als erstes auf, Vocals die mehr gehaucht auf den Hörer schweben aber dennoch ihre Wirkung nicht verfehlen. Keine Harten Beats, Breaks oder Spannungsbögen sondern wunderbar ruhig. Der Song nimmt relativ schnell Einfluss auf die Umgebung, man merkt das man innerlich selber ruhiger wird, sich dem Song anpasst und nach kurzer Zeit driftet man mit seinen Gedanken ab, tagträumt vor sich hin und summt die Melodie ganz einfach mit. Gedanken an die Lichter einer großen Metropole oder das keine eigene Kaff. Man kennt es, man läuft auf den Straßen, man ist müde, es ist kühl und eigentlich mag man es nicht wirklich, doch die Lichter der Stadt spenden Trost, eine klein wenig Wärme. Blicke die in die Ferne schweifen und doch das Gefühl von Andacht und Heimat aufkommen lassen. In Ninos Fall Berlin, doch ganz bestimmt auf jede Stadt anwendbar.

Ein mit viel Stadtlicht und ordentlich 80s Neon-Pink Leuchtreklamen gespicktes Video rundet das ganze ab und mit den wirklich unzähligen Finessen und kleinen versteckten Gimmicks ein echter Hingucker. Vielen Dank Nino!
