ROSI live at Kulttempel Oberhausen

ROSI from Bielefeld is of course not a newcomer in the “dark” music field, the duo has already released the debut “Grey City Life” in 2016. “Hope” followed already in 2019 and has been presented live to the audience with many performances. We had tried to get Sven and Mirco in the focus of our camera for years but as life would have it, we actually managed to experience it only now in the Kulttempel Oberhausen together with the Canadian duo TRAITRS.

Already with the first song, the two musicians left no stone unturned and showed their potential. Strong play, rich sound and equipped with enough dynamics to quickly inspire large audiences, they caught not only us, but let the spark jump over the whole audience. The fact that people were already dancing and singing along to the first song is no longer a matter of course nowadays and is even more proof of the class of the two guys. Not that it was just initial euphoria, no, we always walk around different stations to take photos and in each corner the visitors celebrated just as exuberantly as in the corner before. Their mixture of post-punk, a lot of wave and the huge wealth of experience gives the duo a certain unique selling point that goes down very well. Not only in the “black scene” but also appeals to a wide audience. A colorful mix of all three albums was played and those who did not know the band before and came because of the headliner TRAITRS, quickly learned how great “Sad Dance Songs” can be.

ROSI aus Bielefeld ist natürlich keine Neuerscheinung im “dunklen” Musikbereich, hat das Duo ja bereits 2016 das Debüt “Grey City Life” veröffentlicht. Hope folgte bereits 2019 und konnte mit vielen Auftritten dem Publikum live präsentiert werden. Irgendwie hatten wir es die Jahre immer wieder erfolglos versucht Sven und Mirco mal vor unsere Kamera zu bekommen, doch wie es das Leben eben so wollte, schafften wir es tatsächlich erst jetzt im Kulttempel Oberhausen sie zusammen mit dem kanadischen Duo TRAITRS zu erleben.

Bereits mit dem ersten Song ließen die beiden Musiker nichts anbrennen und zeigten ihr Potential. Starkes Spiel, satter Sound und mit genug Dynamik ausgestattet um auch schnell großes Publikum zu begeistern fingen sie nicht nur uns ein, sondern ließen den Funken über das ganze Publikum überspringen. Das schon beim ersten Song mitgetanzt und gesungen wird, ist heutzutage keine Selbstverständlichkeit mehr und zeugt noch mehr von der Klasse der beiden Jungs. Nicht das es nur anfängliche Euphorie gewesen wäre, nein, wir laufen um Fotos zu machen ja immer verschiedene Stationen ab und in jeder Ecke feierten die Besucher ebenso ausgelassen wie in der Ecke zuvor. Ihre Mischung aus Post-Punk, viel Wave und dem riesigen Erfahrungsschatz verschafft dem Duo ein gewisses Alleinstellungsmerkmal das eben sehr gut ankommt. Nicht nur bei der “schwarzen Szene” sondern eben auch ein breit gefächertes Publikum anspricht. Gespielt wurde ein bunter Mix aller drei Alben und wer die Band vorher noch nicht kannte und wegen dem Headliner TRAITRS kam, der lernte schnell wie toll “Sad Dance Songs” sein können.
