When two perfectionists join together, the result can only be a superlative. “Raise The Skies” is such a superlative, a song that emerges from a story and makes history itself. Pete Burns aka Kill Shelter and Karl Morten Dahl aka Antipole have created something in this British/Norwegian collaboration that not only has the potential to become one of the hits of 2021 but a scene evergreen.

The song has all the strengths needed nowadays as well as in the past. A deep, slightly smoky voice that captivates the listener, a catchy beat and buzzing guitars that dance around the listener and give the whole something hypnotic. Once caught in the depths and facets of the song ( Pete and Karl have put a lot of them into the song), an escape is almost impossible. In addition, the song works on numerous levels. You can dream with it, stare at the horizon for hours and let your thoughts run free or float through thick fog and the lights of the discotheques.

If you are already enchanted by the duo, your heart will stand still now, because Raise The Skies is just the foretaste of the joint album of the perfectionists, which will be released on March 26 this year. Wenn sich zwei Perfektionisten zusammen tun, dann kann das Ergebnis nur ein Superlativ werden. “Raise The Skies” ist so ein Superlativ, ein Song der aus einer Geschichte entsteht und selbst Geschichte schreibt. Pete Burns aka Kill Shelter und Karl Morten Dahl aka Antipole haben in dieser britisch/norwegischen Zusammenarbeit etwas erschaffen das nicht nur das Potential hat einer der Hits 2021 zu werden sondern ein Szene-Evergreen.

Der Song hat alle Stärken die man heutzutage wie auch früher brauchte. Eine tiefe, leicht rauchige Stimme die den Hörer in den Bann zieht, einen eingängigen Beat und schwirrende Gitarren die um den Hörer tanzen und dem ganzen etwas hypnotisches verleihen. Einmal gefangen in den Tiefen und Facetten des Song, und davon haben Pete und Karl eine Menge in den Song gesteckt, ist ein entkommen geradezu unmöglich. Dabei funktioniert der Song zusätzlich auf zahlreichen Ebenen. Mann kann mit ihm träumen, stundenlang in den Horizont starren und seinen Gedanken freien Lauf lassen oder ebenso durch dicke Nebelschwaden und den Lichtern der Diskotheken schweben.

Wer jetzt schon verzaubert vom Duo ist, dem wird jetzt das Herz stillstehen, denn Raise The Skies ist nur der Vorgeschmack auf das am 26. März diesen Jahres erscheinende gemeinsame Album der Perfektionisten. Man darf also wieder ein Superlativ erwarten. Wir kreuzen den Termin auf jeden Fall ganz groß und in roter Farbe im Kalender an.
