If you are familiar with electronic music from France, you will have already heard of Gaston Larrouy, but his new solo project La Rouille (Corrosion) has just entered the spotlight with an EP of the same name. The sound, a mixture of synth-punk with many other ingredients like techno, cold and darkwave or even post-punk is pretty cool. Dynamic, driving and just not in the style of the everywhere numerous electronic acts. Complexity is there as well as the urge to listen to the song extremely loud. Bass that pops and synths that sit tight are standard by Gastons music. We hope to get more of him soon and that the music gets the attention it deserves. Our tip: Track 3

La Rouille EP

Wer sich mit elektronischer Musik aus Frankreich etwas auskennt, dem wird der Name Gaston Larrouy schon begegnet sein, sein neues Soloprojekt La Rouille (der Rost) steht allerdings noch am Anfang und drängt jetzt mit gleichnamiger EP ins Rampenlicht. Zurecht, denn der Sound, eine Mischung aus Synth-Punk mit vielen weiteren Zutaten wie Techno, Cold und Darkwave oder auch Post-Punk ist ziemlich cool. Dynamisch, treibend und eben nicht im Stil der überall zahlreich anzutreffenden elektronischen Acts. Komplexität ist ebenso vorhanden wie der Drang den Song extrem laut zu hören. Bass der knallt und Synths die knackig sitzen sind Standard bei Gaston. Wir hoffen auf baldigen Nachschub aus Bordeux und das die Musik die Aufmerksamkeit bekommt, die sie verdient.
