Carlo Onda is already in a class of his own, the Swiss musician had already released the “Sonnen & Baden” album in May and received a thoroughly positive response, so he is now adding another EP. Larded with 6 tracks, the album transforms innocence, repression and confidence into music. Minimalistically held, Onda used the cheapest production tools like samples from the Boss DR66 or a free synth-plugin. The result is a must see (hear) audio performance, because not only nostalgic fans of the sound of past times get their money’s worth, but also everyone else. The 80s feeling, which is always present, combined with the minimalistic approach, delivers a real experience of electronic music. Only the approach is minimalistic, the spectrum, the variety is not. Soon you get caught up in the songs and don’t want to let go. You will remain in fascination.

Darker Days

Carlo Onda ist schon eine Klasse für sich, hatte der Musiker aus der Schweiz schon im Mai das “Sonnen & Baden” Album auf den Markt gebracht und durchweg positive Resonanz erhalten, so legt er nun nochmal in Form einer EP nach. Gleich mit 6 Tracks gespickt werden thematisch Unschuld, Verdrängung und Zuversicht in Musik verwandelt. Minimalistisch gehalten, bediente sich Onda nach eigenen Angaben auf die billigsten Produktionsmittel wie z.B. Samples vom Boss DR66 oder einem gratis Synth-Plugin. Das Ergebnis kann sich sehen (hören) lassen, denn nicht nur Nostalgiefans des Sounds vergangener Zeiten kommen voll auf ihre Kosten, sondern auch eben alle anderen. Das immer mitschwingende 80s Feeling kombiniert mit dem eben gewollten minimalistischen Ansatz liefert ein echtes Erlebnis an elektronischer Musik ab. Denn hier ist wirklich nur der Ansatz minimalistisch, das Spektrum, die Vielfalt eben nicht. Schnell hängt man in den Songs drin und möchte sich vor Faszination auch gar nicht mehr lösen.

Fazit:

Der Musiker aus der Schweiz macht erneut alles richtig und liefert ein tolles Stück Musik ab.
