With the Zeitgeist sampler series, the German label Cold Transmission had already brought a musical milestone into the dark music world. No other sampler series attracted as many fans as the already grown to 15 releases masterpieces. Now, however, comes Zeitgeist Chrome and those who know the family label know that to describe it, you have to use the superlatives again.

While the previous samplers were held in the chic black, Chrome comes in new, more colorful, but matching the title colors. Only the colors makes everybody extremely curious. White, blue and subtle gray give the cover a special coolness, but beware, the content with its ten tracks is just as cool, yet fiery and explosive. An ultra-concentrate of the CT spirit and his bands. Highly inflammable, infectious and above all it makes instant addictive. If you’re hoping for dynamics in the form of a little warm-up program like before gym class, you’ll be proven wrong with the very first track Brand New Low by DEAD LIGHTS. A kick start into a musical world of fast beats, hard-hitting synths and pushing vocals. There is no escape from this whirlwind, you are sucked up, pushed, rotated and whether you like it or not put into dance mode. No break, no mercy. Djs will be happy that worldwide clubs can not open as usual, because such a sampler makes them almost obsolete. Turn on, fun, dance and 100% full dance floors.

Chrome is available as always as a classic download, but here CT has also come up with the “Blue Cloudy” version in addition to the slim, black version of the vinyl. Both are limited to 150 pieces each and especially the “Blue Cloudy” is a real eye-catcher, which looks really good on e.g. a white slipmat. Fortunately, there are the download codes, because to play the good piece is too bad, a piece of art that belongs on the wall or in a showcase with lots of light. Should you have the misfortune that this gem is taken, you need not be too sad, there is a chic tote bag with the black vinyl.

Conclusion: An all-around successful release in terms of sound, songs, mood and visuals. A must buy that upgrades every collection! Great job Cold Transmission!

Mit der Zeitgeist Sampler-Serie hatte das deutsche Label Cold Transmission bereits einen musikalischen Meilenstein in die dunkle Musikwelt gebracht. Keine andere Sampler-Serie zog so viele Fans an wie die bereits auf 15 Veröffentlichungen gewachsenen Meisterwerke. Nun allerdings kommt Zeitgeist Chrome und wer das Familien-Label kennt, der weiß das man zum Beschreiben wieder die Superlative benutzen muss.

Während die vorherigen Sampler im schicken Schwarz gehalten waren, kommt Chrome in neuem, farbigeren, doch zum Titel passenden Farben daher und macht alleine von der Optik her äußerst neugierig. Weiß, Blau und dezentes Grau verpassen dem Cover eine besondere Kühle, doch Vorsicht, der Inhalt mit seinen zehn Tracks ist zwar ebenso kühl, dennoch feurig und explosiv. Ein Ultra-Konzentrat des CT-Spirits und seinen Bands. Hochentzündlich, ansteckend und vor allem macht es instant abhängig. Wer auf Dynamik hofft in Form eines kleines Aufwärm-Programms wie vor dem Sportunterricht, der wird schon mit dem ersten Track Brand New Low von DEAD LIGHTS eines besseren belehrt. Ein Kickstart in eine musikalische Welt der schnellen Beats, knallharten Synths und pushenden Vocals. Es gibt kein entkommen aus diesem Wirbelsturm, man wird aufgesaugt, geschubst, rotiert und ob man möchte oder nicht in den Tanz-Modus versetzt. Ohne Pause, ohne Gnade. Djs werden glücklich sein, das weltweit die Clubs nicht wie gewohnt öffnen können, denn so ein Sampler macht sie schon fast obsolet. Anmachen, Spaß, tanzen und 100% volle Tanzflächen.

Chrome gibt es wie immer als klassischen Download, doch auch hier hat sich CT neben der schlanken, schwarzen Version des Vinyls noch die “Blue Cloudy” Version ausgedacht. Beide auf je 150 Stück limitiert und gerade die “Blue Cloudy” ein echter Hingucker, der auf z.B. einer weißen Slipmat richtig gut zur Geltung kommt. Zum Glück gibt es die Download-Codes, denn zum Abspielen ist das gute Stück zu Schade, ein Stück Kunst, das an die Wand oder in eine Vitrine gehört mit viel Licht. Solltet ihr das Pech haben, das dieses Schmuckstück vergeben ist, braucht ihr nicht zu traurig zu sein, es gibt bei dem schwarzen Vinyl eine schicke Tote Bag dazu.

Fazit: Ein rundum gelungenes Release in Hinsicht Sound, Songs, Mood und Optik. Ein Pflichtkauf der jede Sammlung aufwertet! Toll gemacht Cold Transmission!
