New Song // Floating – Clone Culture

Milan’s hottest post-punk trio is back with a new song “Floating”, picking up right where they left the music world with their outstanding album Innocence.

Not only us, but also the many fans around the globe have kept glancing at Italy’s fashion and culture capital, waiting for a new release from the trio. Now finally there is a new sign of life, but first you had to take a breath, because the line-up had changed and the fears that this change could affect the style of Clone Culture was great. At the same time it was written about “Renewed Sound” and strengthened the fears. But after the first seconds of Floating all fears were gone. True, the sound has shifted a bit, but the ingenious basic concept, the uniqueness of the sound and the attention to detail are still there. Even trained ears have to listen to the song several times to fully grasp all the instruments and structures of the song. You can quickly get lost in the complexity, fall in love with it and don’t even want to open your eyes anymore, just enjoy it. Even if the song at first seems like a wall of sound, it radiates, in addition to the aforementioned energy, an equally calm core that simply captivates the listener, almost hypnotizes him.

We hope that Floating is the prelude to a new album and that the trio will enchant us with even more songs. For now we have to enjoy the new song.

Mailands heißestes Post-Punk Trio ist mit einem neuen Song “Floating” zurück und knüpft genau dort an, wo sie die Musikwelt mit ihrem überragenden Album Innocence verzaubert haben.

Nicht nur wir, sondern auch die vielen Fans rund um den Globus haben immer wieder einen Blick auf Italiens Mode- und Kulturmetropole geworfen und auf ein neues Release des Trios gewartet. Nun endlich gibt es ein neues Lebenszeichen, doch zuerst musste man erst mal kurz durchatmen, denn das Line-Up hatte sich geändert und die Befürchtungen, das sich diese Veränderung auf den Stil von Clone Culture auswirken könnte war groß. Zeitgleich war von “Renewed Sound” geschrieben worden und verstärkte die Befürchtungen. Doch schon nach den ersten Sekunden von Floating waren alle Befürchtungen verflogen. Es stimmt, der Sound hat sich ein wenig verschoben, aber das geniale Grundkonzept, die Einzigartigkeit des Sounds und die Liebe zum Detail sind weiterhin vorhanden. Selbst geübte Ohren müssen den Song mehrfach hören um alle Instrumente und Strukturen des Songs vollständig zu erfassen. Schnell kann man sich in der Komplexität verlieren, verliebt sich in sie und möchte die Augen gar nicht mehr öffnen, sondern einfach genießen. Auch wenn der Song zuerst wie eine Wall of Sound erscheint, so strahlt er neben der bereits erwähnten Energie einen ebenso ruhigen Kern aus, der den Hörer einfach in seinen Bann zieht, ihn schon fast hypnotisiert.

Wir hoffen, das Floating der Auftakt zu einem neuen Album darstellt und das Trio uns mit noch mehr Songs verzaubert. Jetzt heißt es erst einmal den neuen Song genießen.
