New Album // Together Alone – iamnoone

How good the beginning of a new year can sound, shows the duo Iamnoone with their latest work. Together Alone is a wonderful blend of sounds and Corona coping.

Together Alone, the title, the album is a musical reflection of the Corona theme, as Philippe and Seth have had their very own experiences. Separated by restrictions and lockdowns, it was almost impossible for the two musicians to sit down together in a studio or work on their songs in a familiar environment. A circumstance that, according to the two musicians, plunged them into darkness and conjured up many thoughts of loneliness and sadness. Nevertheless, they worked, albeit separately, on new songs which they compared for the first time in the spring. After another break, they continued again in the fall until they completed Together Alone in its current form.

That the two musicians have processed a lot of the dark experiences of the lockdown, the isolation, you notice the album relatively early. It sounds like a kind of emotional liberation and captivates the listener from the first second. The first track “Kind Of Pain” has already been linked to a fitting and coherent video and makes the distinctive sound of the two even a bit more intense. An album that seems a bit quiet at first glance with its melancholy, but inside it provides plenty of variety and dynamics with deeply rooted emotions. But the really outstanding thing about the eight tracks is the fact that they stop time with their atmospheric darkwave. We have already listened to the album several times and each time it catches us and simply blanks out future worries and the past. You are suddenly alone with iamnoone and that is real balm for the soul. Great when music can do something like that and you can dream to it. I personally have already found one of my favorite albums for the year 2023. Thank you Philippe and Seth.

Wie gut der Anfang eines neuen Jahres klingen kann, zeigt das Duo Iamnoone mit ihrem neusten Werk. Together Alone ist eine wundervolle Mischung aus Klängen und Corona-Bewältigung.

Together Alone, der Titel, das Album ist eine musikalische Reflektion der Corona Thematik, denn Philippe und Seth haben ihre ganz eigenen Erfahrungen gemacht. Getrennt durch Restriktionen und Lockdowns war es für die beiden Musiker nahezu unmöglich sich gemeinsam in ein Studio zu setzen oder im gewohnten Umfeld an ihren Songs zu arbeiten. Ein Umstand, der die beiden Musiker nach eigenen Angaben in Dunkelheit taucht und viele Gedanken an Einsamkeit und Traurigkeit beschwor. Trotzdem arbeiteten sie, wenn auch getrennt, an neuen Songs die sie erstmals im Frühling miteinander verglichen. Nach erneuter Pause ging es dann im Herbst noch einmal weiter, bis sie Together Alone in seiner jetzigen Form vollendet hatten.

Das die beiden Musiker viel von den dunklen Erfahrungen des Lockdowns, der Isolation verarbeitet haben, merkt man dem Album schon relativ früh an. Es kling nach einer Art emotionalen Befreiungsschlag und fesselt den Hörer von der ersten Sekunde an. Der erste Track “Kind Of Pain” wurde bereits mit einem passenden und stimmigen Video verknüpft und lässt den unverkennbaren Sound der Zwei noch ein Stück intensiver wirken. Ein Album, das mit seiner Melancholie auf den ersten Blick etwas ruhig erscheint, aber in seinem Inneren mit tief verwurzelten Emotionen für reichlich Abwechslung und Dynamik sorgt. Doch das wirklich überragende an den acht Tracks ist die Tatsache das sie mit ihrem atmosphärischen Darkwave die Zeit stoppen. Wir haben das Album bereits schon mehrere Male gehört und jedes Mal fängt es uns ein und blendet Zukunftssorgen und die Vergangenheit einfach aus. Man ist auf einmal alleine mit iamnoone und das ist echtes Balsam für die Seele. Großartig wenn Musik so etwas kann und man zu ihr träumen kann. Ich persönlich habe schon eines meiner Lieblingsalben für das Jahr 2023 gefunden. Vielen Dank Philippe und Seth.

Als kleine Anmerkung möchten wir noch darauf hinweisen, das wenn ihr die beiden Musiker noch nicht live erlebt habt etwas großartiges verpasst habt. Ich freue mich schon auf die nächste Gelegenheit.
