Stop Time is the name of the new album by M. Smith aka A Transition and you couldn’t have chosen a more fitting name for this wonderful piece of music. We are already listening to the new longplayer for the fourth time and apparently time really does stand still. We enjoy the view out of the window over the snow-covered roofs of the city to the sounds, which shimmer in a warm yellow from the battle of the afternoon sun with the wintry snow clouds and turn everything into a daydream. The eight great tracks do the same, creating a deep landscape of music and emotions that do not lack variety without becoming restless at any point. Perfectly tuned guitars together with the synths paint musical beauty before the inner eye and ensure that time and stress simply degenerate into banalities. Except for track eight, the songs are all instrumental and only with the hint in the form of the song’s name, the listener has to dream up his own story. Stop Time is therefore not only a supreme musical pleasure but also a riddle about the stories of the songs. Something that keeps you busy for a long time. Just like us, you should listen to “Stop Time” (again) and enjoy music at its best.

Stop Time heißt das neue Album vom M. Smith alias A Transition und man hätte keinen passierenden Namen für das wundervolle Stück Musik wählen können. Wir hören uns jetzt bereits das vierte Mal durch den neuen Longplayer und scheinbar steht die Zeit tatsächlich still. Wir genießen zu den Klängen den Blick aus dem Fenster über die verschneiten Dächer der Stadt, die vom Kampf der Nachmittagssonne mit den winterlichen Schneewolken in einem warmen Gelb schimmern und alles in einen Tagtraum verwandeln. Mit den acht großartigen Tracks verhält es sich ebenso, sie kreieren eine tiefe Landschaft aus Musik und Emotionen, denen es an Abwechslung nicht mangelt ohne jedoch an irgendeiner Stelle unruhig zu werden. Perfekt abgestimmte Gitarren malen zusammen mit den Synths musikalische Schönheit vors Innere Auge und sorgen dafür das Zeit und Stress einfach zu Banalitäten verkommen. Bis auf Track acht sind die Songs alle instrumental und nur mit dem Hinweis in Form des Namens des Songs muss der Hörer seine Geschichte selber erträumen. Stop Time ist daher nicht nur oberster musikalischer Genuss sondern ebenso ein Rätsel um die Geschichten der Songs. Etwas das einen sehr lange beschäftigt. Ebenso wie wir solltet ihr (nochmals) in “Stop Time” reinhören und Musik in Höchstform genießen.
