New Song – Bad Habits – Dilk

Releases of the trio Dilk from Madrid are always a positive surprise and you never know with what the three musicians surprise you so. “Bad Habits” is no exception and so the sound of Jaime, Esperanza and Carlos once again sounds like a “reinvention” of Dilk. The basic framework is as usual electronic and provided with a snappy beat and triggers exactly what you expect from Dilk: Unrestrained urge to move. Even the most tired souls are torn out of their legarthy here, because the “new” component in the repertoire of the three musicians sounds quite like shoegaze and makes the sound even a factor more nippy than it already is. Something we personally find quite ingenious and if rumors are to be believed, the trio will move a bit more or more often in this direction in the future. And speaking of rumors, a new EP is said to be not too far away either. We are curious, because Dilk are always good for a positive surprise.

Veröffentlichungen des Trios Dilk aus Madrid sind immer eine positive Überraschung und man weiß nie womit die drei Musiker einen so überraschen. “Bad Habits” ist da keine Ausnahme und so klingt der Sound von Jaime, Esperanza und Carlos wieder einmal wie eine “Neuerfindung” von Dilk. Das Grundgerüst ist wie gewohnt elektronisch und mit flottem Beat versehen und löst genau das aus was man von Dilk erwartet: Ungebremster Bewegungsdrang. Selbst die müdesten Seelen werden hier aus der Legarthie gerissen, denn die “neue” Komponente im Repertoire der drei Musiker klingt ziemlich nach Shoegaze und macht den Sound noch einen Faktor flotter als er ohnehin schon ist. Etwas, das wir persönlich ziemlich genial finden und wenn man den Gerüchten glauben mag, wird sich das Trio in der Zukunft etwas mehr bzw. öfter in diese Richtung bewegen. Und wo wir gerade schon bei Gerüchten sind, soll eine neue EP auch nicht mehr in allzu weiter Ferne sein. Wir sind gespannt, denn Dilk sind eben immer für eine positive Überraschung gut.
