Twin Tribes live at Zentrum Altenberg

Hardly any band has had as much influence on the dark music scene in recent years and caused a stir as the duo Twin Tribes from Brownsville, Texas. Nearby everyday you find their songs in playlists or on social channels like Tik Tok. Already since 2017 Luis Navarro (vocals, guitar, synth, drum machines) and Joel Niño, Jr. (bass, synth, vocals) are musically on the road and have developed and established their very own style in that time. A special mix of different genres that you rarely hear in this form and fall for it after a short time. So it’s no wonder that the European fans were passionately looking forward to a tour.

After the prelude in Frankfurt it was finally time, the two guys played in Oberhausen, so to speak directly in front of our door and with Isla Ola as a support band nothing could go wrong in the Oberhausen Zentrum Altenberg. Properly warmed up by Isla Ola, the fans waited excitedly when finally the stage shone in red light and the spotlights together with the fog formed a fantastic ambience. It started right away with the first song and you immediately noticed how much power and fun the guys had. Fun and power that was contagious, because when we started taking pictures we noticed that the spark jumped directly to the fans. The fans danced, sang and enjoyed the show. Crisp bass, perfectly fitting guitars and vocals made the gig a real treat and as with the opening act, the lighting was also remarkable, as you can see from the photo gallery. So it was a gig for the senses and a defining event. The set left nothing to be desired and finally culminated with Fantasmas as an encore in which Luis and Joel once again channeled all their energies.

Shortly before the start, but also after the concert, the two took a lot of time to talk to us and the fans. About Frankfurt, how excited they are about the tour and all the new cities that are still ahead of them. They were available for photos and signed dozens of albums. Two really likeable guys who left quite an impression and we would love to welcome them back in Oberhausen.

Kaum eine Band hat in den letzten Jahren so viel Einfluss auf die dunkle Musikszene gehabt und für Aufsehen gesorgt wie das Duo Twin Tribes aus Brownsville, Texas. Kaum ein Tag vergeht, das man ihre Songs nicht in Playlists oder auf den sozialen Kanälen wie z.B. Tik Tok findet. Bereits seit 2017 sind Luis Navarro (vocals, guitar, synth, drum machines) und Joel Niño, Jr. (bass, synth, vocals) musikalisch unterwegs und haben in der Zeit ihren ganz eigenen Stil entwickelt und etabliert. Ein besonderer Mix verschiedener Genres den man in der Form selten hört und ihm nach kurzer Zeit verfallen ist. Kein Wunder also, das die europäischen Fans einer Tournee leidenschaftliche entgegen fieberten.

Nach dem Auftakt in Frankfurt war es dann endlich soweit, die Beiden Jungs spielten in Oberhausen, also quasi direkt vor der Haustür und mit Isla Ola als Vorband konnte im Oberhausener Zentrum Altenberg nichts mehr schief gehen. Ordentlich aufgewärmt durch Isla Ola warteten die Fans gespannt, als endlich die Bühne in rotem Licht erstrahlte und die Scheinwerfer zusammen mit dem Nebel sich zu einem fantastischen Ambiente formten. Es ging gleich los mit dem ersten Song und man merkte direkt wie viel Power und Spaß in den Jungs steckt. Spaß und Power die ansteckte, denn als wir mit dem fotografieren begannen bemerkten wir das der Funken direkt auf die Fans übergesprungen ist. Es wurde mitgesungen, getanzt und genossen. Knackiger Bass, perfekt sitzende Gitarren und Vocals machten den Auftritt zu einem wirklichen Genuss und wie schon bei der Vorband war auch das Licht bemerkenswert, wie man an der Fotogalerie sehen kann. Es war also ein Auftritt für die Sinne und ein prägendes Ereignis. Das Set ließ keine Wünsche offen und gipfelte schlussendlich mit Fantasmas als Zugabe in der Luis und Joel noch einmal sämtliche Energien kanalisierten.

Kurz vor dem Beginn, aber auch nach dem Konzert nahmen sich die Beiden sehr viel Zeit ums sich mit uns und den Fans zu unterhalten. Über Frankfurt, wie aufgeregt sie über die Tour sind und wie gespannt sie auf die ganzen neuen Städte sind die noch vor ihnen liegen. Sie standen für Fotos bereit und signierten dutzende von Alben. Zwei wirklich sympathische Jungs, die ordentlich Eindruck hinterlassen haben und die wir gerne wieder in Oberhausen begrüßen würden.
