Vampyre Villa – Vazum

Vampyre Villa

Detroit’s Goth band Vazum is back! You’ve met them a few times on our site and we have to say that they´re really grown on us and even turned out to be one of our firmly established personal favorites. With three albums already released, Vampyre Villa is now the fourth longplayer and it exceeds all expectations so far.

The trio, consisting of Zach Pliska (vox, guitar, synth, bass, drums), Zachary Anderson (guitar, bass) and Emily Sturm (vox, bass) doesn’t make it easy if you want to try to put them in a category. There are way to many influences by other genres, that you can do it easily, like deathrock, classical alternative or Goth with a good portion of post-Punk. Into that great web of notes they put the depth of shoegaze and make it even more complex. But on the other hand they call it Deathgaze, which really fits extraordinarily well.

The three musicians create their very own atmosphere, which you are instantly captivated by with no chance to avoid it. They strum the guitars in the best deathrock manner through some songs, which makes you almost dizzy and only a short time later they create a solid drive, which is turning you towards the dancefloor. A rollercoaster ride between quiet passages with heart and soul and the feeling to be pushed into musical rapids. At the end of the album you´ll completely happy and you will beg for another ride. The Album really has everything you need, the feeling of going in circles in a forest which is blessed with a full moon or dancing with your eternal love until the end of the world. Ploughing through the moshpit or flying over the highway with loud music and open windows. As you can see, the impulses that emanate from the songs are immense and are far from being finally enumerated. With a dark basic tone, glimpses of light and here and there even some colour, the three of create their own wonderful world in which one likes to stay and even misses quickly.

Summary:
With the now already fourth album we hope that the band can finally take the next step and get the recognition they deserve. Hey, they already have their own genre! Listen to it, get inspired and dream / dance with their songs.

Vampyre Villa
