Death Pop – DEAD LIGHTS

Wow, the name already promised a lot and if a band makes it into the Cold Transmission collective, the sound has to be extraordinary. Already after the first few seconds the sound had us under control. Pretty hard and a little bit different than expected (in a positive sense), the maximum volume of the music system was quickly reached. Exactly what you need at the moment is a never ending source of energy from brute beats. Synthlines that are not only addictive but also go into blood and spirit and quickly manifest themselves as catchy tunes. Unconventional and therefore so attractive, it’s no wonder that we had to look for a music system with more “power”, because you don’t just want to hear this unique sound, but also feel it on your skin. The fascinating thing is the liveliness of the sound, the warmth that emanates from them, which is quite contrary to the usual stoic, cold rattling of today’s electronic music.
Nevertheless, the sound on the other hand shows in a frightening way how the world is doing. Not that there is anything wrong with the tracks, quite the contrary! They embody 100% club, dancing, sweat and long nights with lots of people around. A shame that they cannot be enjoyed and danced in the crowd.

Summary:
DEAD LIGHTS you just have to hear. If you don’t want to move with that sound, you might already be dead.

Wow, der Name versprach schon einiges und wenn es eine Band ins Cold Transmission Kollektiv schafft, dann muss der Sound auch außergewöhnlich sein. Schon nach dem ersten paar Sekunden hatte uns der Sound im Griff. Ziemlich hart und ein wenig anders als erwartet (im positiven Sinne) war die maximale Lautstärke der Musikanlage schnell erreicht. Genau das was man im Moment braucht eine niemals versiegende Energiequelle aus brachialen Beats, Synthlines die nicht nur süchtig machen sondern in Blut und Geist aufgehen und sich schnell als Ohrwurm manifestieren. Unkonventionell und gerade deshalb so anziehend ist es kein Wunder das wir schnell eine Musikanlage suchen mussten die über mehr Bumms verfügt, denn diesen einzigartigen Sound will man nicht nur hören sondern auch auf der Haut spüren. Das faszinierende dabei ist die Lebendigkeit des Sounds, die Wärme die von ihnen ausgeht und eben ganz konträr zum üblichen stoischen, kalten Rattern der heutigen elektronischen Musik steht.
Dennoch zeigt der Sound auf der anderen Seite auf erschreckende Weise wie es gerade um die Welt steht. Nicht das etwas mit den Tracks nicht stimmen würde, ganz im Gegenteil! Sie verkörpern zu 100 Prozent Club, Tanzen, Schweiß und lange Nächte mit vielen Menschen um sich herum. Eine Schande das sie nicht in der Masse genossen und getanzt werden können.

Fazit:
DEAD LIGHTS muss man hören, wird man lieben und wer hier keinen Bewegungsdrang verspürt, dem ist nicht zu helfen.
