New EP// Széllel szemben – Empty Story

From Hungary comes a very special new song by the band Empty Story. A song that not only thematically fits the world political situation, but also sounds wonderful.

Empty Story are Mihály, Tibor, Zsolt and Gyarmathy from the city of Békéscsaba in south-eastern Hungary. The musicians stand out above all for their wonderfully rich sound, which carries a lot of the 80s feeling and can be very cold, but also warm. Basslines that run through the song and connect with the drums to draw the listener into a hypnotic spell. Synths and guitars intertwine to form a web that captivates the listener until the end of the song. Together they build up strong emotions, which are intensified by the baritone vocals.

Széllel szemben means something like “Against the wind” and thematically deals with the unbelievably useless conflict of the year 2022. All signs point to war and the duo has written a beautiful text for it, which speaks and works for itself. (below)

It’s worth keeping your eyes on the southeast of Hungary, because the new song presented is not the first to convince us and hopefully not the last. We are looking forward to more.

Aus Ungarn kommt ein ganz besonderer neuer Song der Band Empty Story. Ein Song der thematisch nicht nur zur weltpolitischen Lage passt, sondern sich auch noch wunderbar anhört.

Empty Story sind Mihály, Tibor, Zsolt und Gyarmathy aus der Stadt Békéscsaba die im Südosten Ungarns liegt. Die Musiker zeichnen sich vor allem über den herrlich satten Sound aus, der viel vom 80s Feeling trägt und sowohl sehr kalt, aber auch warm sein kann. Basslines die sich durch den Song ziehen und sich mit den Drums verbinden um den Hörer in einen hypnotischen Bann zu ziehen. Synths und Gitarren verflechten sich zu einem Netz das den Hörer bis zum Ende des Songs fesselt. Sie bauen zusammen starke Emotionen auf, die durch den Baritongesang in ihrer Wirkung noch um einiges verstärkt werden.

Széllel szemben bedeutet so viel wie “Gegen den Wind” und behandelt thematisch den unglaublich nutzlosen Konflikt des Jahres 2022. Alle Zeichen stehen auf Krieg und das Duo hat einen schönen Text dazu verfasst, der für sich alleine spricht und wirkt. (weiter unten)

Es lohnt sich seinen Blick in den Südosten Ungarns zu behalten, denn der vorgestellte neue Song ist nicht der erste der uns überzeugt und hoffentlich nicht der letzte. Wir freuen uns auf mehr.
