Werther Effekt – Minicave Festival 2021

As we were preparing for the upcoming Minicave Festival, we noticed a name that we had heard before, but (unfortunately) never really found the time to look into the band in detail. Werther Effekt, in itself very interesting because of the meaning of the name, now caught our undivided attention. The duo from Leipzig with roots in Brazil, more precisely São Paulo, is like a work of art. The focus is on music, yet you can also find many works of the duo in the graphic field. Additionally politically and feminism active, the duo is truly more than just a band.

Even before the first song, it had become really crowded in front of the stage, because the band has a large fan base and as soon as the first notes sounded, a party atmosphere had already broken out among the guests. The catchy, electronic sound, which sometimes was not stingy with harshness, quickly jumped over and made the performance very successful. One felt partly a little pushed around between the old time and emerging memories and the sounds of the modern age. Wonderfully successful, because music that takes on serious topics, actively affects and influences the listener is our favorite anyway. We are looking forward to the next concert! Muito obrigado!

Als wir uns auf das bevorstehende Minicave Festival vorbereiteten, fiel uns ein Name auf den wir zwar schon vernommen hatten, aber (leider) nie richtig die Zeit gefunden hatten uns ausführlich mit der Band zu befassen. Werther Effekt, an sich schon wegen der Bedeutung des Namens sehr interessant, weckten nun unsere ungeteilte Aufmerksamkeit. Das Duo aus Leipzig mit Wurzeln in Brasilien, genauer gesagt São Paulo, ist wie ein Kunstwerk. Der Fokus liegt auf Musik, dennoch findet man auch im grafischen Bereich viele Arbeiten des Duos. Zusätzlich politisch und im Feminismus aktiv ist das Duo wahrlich mehr als nur eine Band.

Schon vor dem ersten Song war es vor der Bühne richtig voll geworden, denn die Band verfügt über eine große Fanbase und kaum erklangen die ersten Töne, war bei den Gästen schon Partystimmung ausgebrochen. Der eingängige, elektronische Sound, der manchmal mit Härte nicht geizte sprang schnell über und machte den Auftritt sehr gelungen. Man fühlte sich teilweise ein wenig herumgeschubst zwischen der Alten Zeit und aufkommenden Erinnerungen und den Klängen der Moderne. Wunderbar gelungen, denn Musik die sich ernsten Themen annimmt, sich aktiv auf den Hörer auswirkt und ihn beeinflusst ist uns eh die liebste. Wir freuen uns auf den nächsten Auftritt!
